We might be a little partial to summer birthdays, because after all, that’s when ours is! This year, Lime Ricki is turning 10(!) and while we have lots of celebrations in the works, we’re kicking it off by giving you some inspiration for your next birthday Instagram post. After all, you want that perfect balance of commemorating another year of life, but doing it in a classy, fun way. We scoured the internet for the best ideas and put them all in one place for your convenience!
1. Number balloons
Of course, we have to start out with the classic number balloons. You can buy these at most party stores, so grab the numbers for the age you’re turning and get them filled with helium. The hard part is getting them to stay the right way around long enough to take a photo!
2. Blowing out candles
Get a cute round cake, top it with some glittery candles, and capture the perfect moment when you’re blowing out the candles. You can even use Instagram’s Boomerang feature to make this shot even better!
Gather up a handful of confetti and blow it toward the camera! Or, if you want a more unique photo, have someone drop confetti on you from above. There are many types of confetti to use, but we think paper confetti (not the metallic kind) is the cutest and easiest to clean up.
4. Colored wall
This photo could work for any occasion, but it would be a fun birthday photo too! Track down a colored wall in your area, and then get some balloons and an outfit in the same color as the wall. It’s the perfect opportunity for a jumping photo too!
5. Create a cute photo backdrop
Whether you set up a “Happy Birthday” banner, another type of garland, or something else all together, it’s sure to be adorable and eye-catching!
6. Party hat
You’re never too old for a cute little party hat! Grab a stack and take a group shot at the night’s celebration.
7. Cake smash
Turning a big age like 30 or 40? Have your own adult cake smash photoshoot! The pictures will be the perfect balance of funny, awkward, and darling!
What day is your next birthday? Watch for Lime Ricki’s 10th birthday celebrations, coming soon!
