People can do amazing things with nail art these days! While we know there's nothing quite as nice as getting your nails expertly done, we also don’t always have the time (or the money) to make that happen. But just because you may be short on time doesn’t mean you have to skimp on your nail style. You don’t have to be a professional stylist to try nail designs out for yourself! All you need are a few tips, a little do-it-yourself attitude, and you can keep your nails looking “sharp” at home.

Triangle tip nails are the perfect example of a nail design you can do yourself. This eye-catching style lends itself to a ton of creative variations, but getting started is easy. All you need to "nail" triangle tips is one piece of tape, a pair of scissors, and your favorite nail polish. (You should be able to reuse the same piece of tape for each finger, but just in case that piece of tape starts to fall apart, keep your scissors and some backup tape close by!)

First, cut the tip of the piece of tape into a triangle shape. Next, line up the tip of the tape triangle with the tip of your nail. Make sure the piece of tape is exactly where you want it, then paint the exposed part of your nail with your favorite polish. Remove the tape to reveal the perfect triangle tip every single time!

Repeat this process with every nail or use it on just a few to create your own unique look. You can always use a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to touch up any mistakes. Make sure to go over each nail with your favorite protective topcoat, and BOOM! You have a perfect, polished manicure!

Once you master this first triangle design, you can try cutting different lines for new styles. Give your first coat of polish time to dry completely, then layer a second piece of tape and use a second polish color to produce stunning colorblocking or subtle multi-tonal looks.

Doesn’t that sound so simple? Triangle nail tips are quick and easy for us, but even great for teens just learning to paint their own nails, and it makes for a great group activity, too! Get ready to impress all of your friends with your skills and have a great time doing it.
