What are you listening to?
This is what I’m into today, and tomorrow, and a few days later. A few weeks ago it was Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon, and The English Beat – I Just Can’t Stop It. Pink Floyd because I saw their light show at the Del Mar Fair (with prism defraction firework glasses–I had to look that up), and The English Beat because I asked my brother what classic albums I had to add to my summer playlist and he told me “I Just Can’t Stop It.” I was pretty glad he did. It has that UK ska sound from a time I never knew but feel nostalgic for when I listen to that album.
This song, though, by Clean Bandit is from a time that we call today. It’s nostalgic in its lyrics, but nothing else (unless you’re counting the string section). Put it on, turn the stereo (computer/ipod/iphone) up and see how it makes you feel. It makes me miss diving head first off of a house boat into the warmest lake water you’ll ever find. What does it make you feel?
