Mark Your Calendars

While this isn’t a comprehensive list at the time of writing, it covers a span of chronological events taking place in the summer of 2024. Let’s dive in.

Say Hello to Summer; Bubbles Block Party in South Jordan

Goldfish Swim School in South Jordan is kicking things off this summer with a swim party on Saturday, May 18th! From 3:00-5:00 pm, all are welcome to attend this FREE summer block party. Located at 1350 South Jordan Parkway South Jordan, UT 84095, guests can enjoy swimming for two hours, complete with prizes and treats from local vendors. It’s the perfect way to start the seasonal fun if you’re local (and get your stir-crazy kiddos out of the house). No need to RSVP—just rock your favorite Lime Ricki suit and show up!

Splash Days in Saratoga Springs

Let’s take things a little farther down south with Splash Days, hosted by the city of Saratoga Springs. From June 5th-8th, 2024, the city is packing the fun in with carnival rides, food trucks, live music, parades, and more, but we want to focus on the Kids Splash Bash for obvious reasons! This event takes place on Wednesday, June 5th, from 2-3:30 pm. Located at Sunrise Park (749 N. 800 W.), your family can play in the foam and water with the local fire department and enjoy treats and drinks from local food trucks. Know that it is designated for kids 12 and under, but if you’re chasing around a soapy toddler, you’ll want to dress the part. Our swim skirts and shorts were practically made for this scenario.

Cherry Days in North Ogden

Aaaand shooting back up north, let’s hear it for Cherry Days. (We don’t know who decided on having all these “days,” but we’re here for it!) If you live in Salt Lake City or beyond, you don’t want to miss out on Cherry Days. Similar to Splash Days, North Ogden will host a carnival, parade, outdoor movie night, pickleball tournaments, car show, etc.—the works! But again, we want to focus on the swimwear-worthy days.

Ramp Day at the North Shore Pool

Starting on Saturday, June 29th, the first 800 guests can swim FREE at North Shore Pool for “Ramp Day,” complete with a water playground for littles and a giant slide for the older kids. The event starts at 11:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm, located at 245 E 2550 N, North Ogden, UT 84414.

Flick ‘N Float at the North Shore Aquatic Center

Up next is a nighttime water event! On Wednesday, July 3rd, experience “Flick ‘N Float,” a chance to kick back in your inner tube or pool float (BYOIT or PF) while you watch the movie “Elemental.” No tickets are required for this family-friendly event, but note that it’s a late one if you have younger children. The movie will begin at 9:00 pm and go to about 11:00 pm. This movie/pool night is located at the same spot as above: 245 E 2550 N, North Ogden, UT 84414.

Foam Party at Wadman Park

Finally, don’t forget about the “Foam Party” on Thursday, July 4th! What better way to celebrate our country than being covered in soapy bubbles? It’s an awesome, family-friendly event that people rave about each year. The foam fun begins at 1:00 pm and ends at 3:00 pm, located at Wadman Park, 2700 N 1050 E, North Ogden, UT 84414. You do have to pay for a $2 wristband to get in, either online in advance or with cash the day of. Buy your tickets here.

Back of Beyond Paddle Race in Moab

Now we didn’t want to leave out our friends down south (we’re talking Southern Utah), so here’s one last event that doesn’t take place until Saturday, September 21st (the anticipation!). Don’t worry; it’ll still be swimsuit weather down there. The “2024 Back of Beyond Paddle Race” is mainly for our sporty gals, but if it’s more up your significant other’s or kids’ alleys, you can also just go to support.

The race will take place on the Colorado River in Moab (44 W 200 N Moab, UT 84532), and it’s two days of stand-up paddling and kayaking events through the spectacular red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah and past some of the world's most breathtaking scenery.

Day 1 is the 7-mile “Postcard Alley” flatwater race, starting at Dewey Bridge and ending at Hittle Bottom boat ramp. Day 2 is the “StandUp-ShowDown,” a whitewater race running through Rocky Rapid. Racers will sprint to navigate buoy turns through this class 2/3 rapid to take the title. Tickets range from $35-100 depending on what you partake in.

Whether you go to be part of the race or make a family getaway out of it, you’ll want a rash guard and swim shorts!
