This week in Dream Pop

I remember first hearing Beach House. It was a song called Zebra and I didn’t really know what to make of it. The music was ethereal. It had an airy sound to it, like the music wasn’t grounded by anything at all, and if I didn’t listen closely enough it would just keep floating by. I guess this is what they call “dream pop,” and I think it’s the perfect description for the genre.

Skip ahead a year or two and I’m hearing another Beach House song.  This is what I want to share with you. It’s a song called Other People, and it’s really pretty good. I’ve listened to it over and over again the past few days and can’t seem to get it out of my mind. So, without further ado, I present to you dream pop.
