Coconut oil can do a lot of amazing things. To make it more fun, we’ve decided to put together an ABC list of all the benefits and creative uses of coconut oil we could find!

A - Antimicrobial properties: Because coconut oil is full of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) like lauric acid, it can fight against disease-causing microorganisms.
B - Baking and cooking: Coconut oil is great for frying and cooking at high temperatures, thanks to its high saturated fat content.
C - Cuticle care: Massaging a little bit of coconut oil onto your cuticles a few times a week can help heal cuticles that are looking a little ragged.
D - Dry skin: Coconut oil is a great substitution for lotion; just make sure you remember you don’t need nearly as much coconut oil as you do lotion when applying!
E - Energy supply: The same MCTs that fight harmful microorganisms can also provide a quick burst of energy.
F - Fight Alzheimer’s disease: Alzheimer’s disease reduces your brain’s ability to use glucose for energy, but coconut oil provides your body with ketones, which can be used as a glucose substitute.
G - Good source of antioxidants: Coconut oil is full of antioxidants, including tocopherols, tocotrienols, phytosterols, flavonoids, and polyphenols.
H - Hair care: If you have dry or damaged hair, adding a little bit of coconut oil after a shower, or using coconut oil as a hair mask, can greatly reduce dryness and frizziness.
I - Improved skin: Coconut oil can boost the moisture of dry skin, especially on the face, and give your face a healthy-looking glow.
J - Joint pain reduction: The antioxidants known as polyphenols are believed to reduce the symptoms of arthritis, especially in terms of joint pain and inflammation.
K - Ketones help your brain: The MCTs in coconut oil increase the production of ketones in your body, which can act as an extra energy source to help your brain function better.
L - Lip care: Coconut oil can moisturize your arms, legs, face, AND lips!
M - Metabolic rate boost: Your body will quickly absorb the MCTs in coconut oil and may help you burn calories faster!
N - Nontoxic insect repellant: Combine coconut oil with the right essential oils to make a nontoxic insect repellant.
O - Oral health benefits: Because of the lauric acid content, coconut oil can potentially reduce the amount of harmful bacteria in your mouth.
P - Plaque prevention: The lauric acid mentioned above can also help prevent cavities and reduce plaque buildup and gum inflammation.
Q - Quickly make your own mayonnaise: Making a healthier alternative to store-bought mayonnaise is easy with the help of coconut oil!
R - Reduce seizures: Increased ketone levels within the body can reduce the frequency of seizures that individuals with epilepsy experience.
S - Substitute for butter: Whether you’re cooking or baking, coconut oil can act as a healthier substitute to butter, so consider making the switch in a few recipes and see if you notice a difference in the way you feel.
T - Tea and coffee: Try adding a tablespoon (or two) to your coffee or tea. Start with smaller amounts, since saturated fats are supposed to make up a small part of a healthy diet!
U - UV ray protection: Coconut oil may not provide as much protection for your skin as traditional sunscreen, but it can still protect your skin from the harshest UV rays.
V - Very good for skin conditions like eczema: Coconut oil can help treat eczema, dermatitis, and other skin disorders, as well as mineral oil and other moisturizers.
W - Wrinkle prevention: Because coconut oil protects your skin from UV rays, it can also prevent wrinkles, brown spots, and various forms of skin cancer.
X - Xtra quick healing for wounds: Coconut oil reduces inflammation and increases collagen production, which allows wounds to heal faster.
Y - Your good cholesterol will rise: Some evidence shows that coconut oil causes bad cholesterol to lower and good cholesterol to rise, which means coconut oil can be good for your heart too.
Z - Zap away acne: The lauric acid in coconut oil fights the bacteria that causes acne, which means that coconut oil can even help with acne prevention!

With all of these amazing potential benefits, we can’t wait to get more coconut oil in our daily routines. Let us know how coconut oil works for you!
