Raise your hand if you’re a book on the beach kind of person. I half raised my hand. And after a semester of reading short stories and essays, I think some light summer reading is in the cards for me. What about you? Do you make a summer book list? What have been some of your favorite summer reads? I’d like to make a list so that in the early morning hours, and ones just before bed, I will have good books to read, places (in pages) to go. So here’s to a great summer of exploration, both literal and figurative.
Summer is the perfect time to read. At least for me. I’m not in school so I can afford to lose myself in books, because I don’t have many responsibilities. And because I’m a huge reader, I decided to share a few of my favorite books with you so you can add to your reading list (and fill that bookshelf)!
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald — If you’ve already read it, read it again. So worth it.
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie — I posted about this once before, it’s one of my absolute favorites.
The Anthem by Ayn Rand — Quick read, but it makes you think.
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde — Very deep, also makes you think.
The Giver by Lois Lowry — Easy read but super interesting concept.
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card — Also one of my favorites.
