Summer Bucket List :: Spontaneous Road Trip
Sometimes in life, you’ve just got to do what you want to do. It’s difficult sometimes, we realize that. So we’re going to make you a Summer Bucket List. Some items may be extravagant; others may be very simple, perhaps even silly, but we promise your summer will be exponentially better if you give this list a chance.
It doesn’t have to be a huge trip. Just get a few friends together and drive. Go to the beach, or the lake, or a big city, or the mountains. Trips are a lot more fun if there are no set plans, so don’t make any. No expectations, no time crunch, nowhere to be except wherever you want to be. Sleep in the car or outside. Be only with the people who are physically in your presence. Make a rule to not turn your cell phones on unless you absolutely need them. The experience will be so much better if you aren’t distracted by texts, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. We promise. Listen to music from your childhood. Play card games. Laugh, a lot. Let go of the life you left behind for just a little while; the only things that matter to you on this trip are the people you are with and the fun you’re bound to have. Trust us on this one.
