Fall is quickly approaching (summer come back!) and it’s time to break out all those cardigans, booties, and blanket scarves once again. Whenever we think about falling leaves and pumpkin patches, we can’t help but imagine exploring them in plaid. Whether it’s a tiny accessory or a bulky sweater, plaid just screams autumn and while we’re sad summer is coming to a close, we can’t wait to incorporate one of our favorite prints into our wardrobes. Since we never want to run low on fashion inspiration, we put together a few outfits to spark your creativity!

Fall Fashion Inspiration 1
MaxMara pocket tee / P A R O S H cape coat / Topshop high-waisted pants / LC Lauren Conrad short boots
Our tendency is to gravitate toward the classic flannel top, but a cardigan or cape layered over a shirt adds a little dimension and makes such a cute statement piece! Plus, its a piece that will transition easily into winter as well.
Fall Fashion Inspiration 2
Madewell dress / Lucky Brand leather booties / Vegan purse / Tartan scarf
I don’t think we’ll ever be able to get enough of chambray dresses, and if you have one, it’s definitely an item you can wear in late summer and early fall. Once the leaves start to change, add a plaid scarf and you’ll be ready for your first pumpkin spice latte of the season.
Fall Fashion Inspiration 3
T By Alexander Wang purple top / Lands End blue skirt / Breckelle’s ankle boots / Alexander Wang long strap purse / Christys navy hat
This one is a little more reminiscent of the back-to-school days, but we’re kind of loving it because of that! We’d love to head out for a day of shopping in a slouchy sweater and this darling pleated skirt. Add the hat and you’ll be feeling like you can take over the world!
What’s your favorite trend for fall? Post a comment and let us know! And if you’re like us and can’t bear the thought of giving up swimming and hanging out poolside just yet, don’t worry! We’ve still got some of our gingham suits left that will go perfectly with the rest of your plaid wardrobe. Head over to the shop to check them out!
